This is bad, right?

Which sounds good on the surface but won’t really affect the price of gas that much in some states like California, Washington and Illinois.
All of which add taxes over fifty cents a gallon.
Also, I don’t know when that snapshot of gas prices was taken but there are places in California where gas is over $8 a gallon and I have seen Diesel prices over $7 a gallon here in Washington state up around Seattle within the last couple of weeks.
I personally paid $6.49 a gallon here in Vancouverstan Washington, putting some Diesel on my Brother’s 97 F-250 Super Duty that I had to borrow for a few days two weeks ago while I had my truck in the shop.

I wonder how the founding fathers who got bent over a 2 cent tax on tea would feel about this?
It’s little consolation that I’m in the state which appears to have 7th from the lowest average gas price right now. What’s worse still is that the knock on effects (cost of virtually all goods, shortages of food due to fertilizer supply) will be far worse than the immediate out of pocket hit we are taking to fill up the tank right now. We are on an unsustainable trajectory here.
I think Europe is at about $11 per gallon right now, their version of socialism that the left is begging for.
Cumulative taxes and fees in calif are about 1.44 per gallon.
last time I topped off it was 4.69 here in the hills of pa. last week.
bought 30 gallons of “corn free” gas last month and it was 5.21 per
last year it was like 4.21.
gasoline taxes are unreal. it always seems like they say it NEVER enough to fix the roads and whatnot, BUT I bet a lot of it goes to pay the assholes in the dept. of roads and bullshit.
