Deathray in Alaska is having to evacuate his home due to a fire starting around and now into the town he lives near and having to evac to safer area. I have talked to him on the phone, he is tired and trying hard to take it all in. So far his home is safe due to the wind blowing the other direction, but that could change quickly., Prayers you sent me please send them to Deathray and his crisis.

Was working in my shop a few weeks ago and heard a double engine turbo prop liw over my property. Went outside to see the field behind me on fire and a water bomber at about 300ft doing a pass. Luckily wind was pushing away from us.
Turns out a non english speaking semi driver was driving on rims on his rig and start 6 fires along the paved county road. Took a day but they got them all out with no loss of life.
May deathray have favorable winds as well.
Prayers outbound. So much not so good news lately. Kinda makes you wonder what the hell?
So Kevin is suffering from the effects of surgery and my suspicion that Bear Claw smokes dope, has proven to be true. I’ll let it be known that I was fortunate not to have to evacuate my home. I spent a large portion of yesterday loading up many of my assets if the need arose. There’s no way I could save the structures if it came my way. The wind kept the fire moving away from me. As you can see it went right through the center of my community. There is a big airfield here left over from WWII. It is only used in the summer anymore as a refueling station for those large aircraft that drop the retardant. All those are not here right now because of all the fires happening in the west. So it was up to the ground pounders and smoke jumpers. It took a few hours to get all that in place and then late afternoon 4 helicopters arrived that had buckets slung from them. I’m not certain how many acres were involved or how many homes were destroyed, but it is a lot. As of this morning the wind has stopped and the skies are cloudy. The humidity is high. Late last night the fire was past town and heading for the river.
We see these kinds of fires all the time on tv. All I can say is until you experience it up close you don’t appreciate how big and fast they really are.

Spent the whole summer living thru partial fire aftermath after freshman year highschool it sucked. Let em burn to the ground or be prepared to inventory everything that survived then clean then store till then return to new house.
