Bluebird of bitterness., Our sweet little Scruffy, who left us in June for that great catnip field in the sky.

Wild, wild West., The cartoon is what it’s like to home office around my place. The actual cat is Psycho Cat, hard at work defending the house from a flock of turkeys. To her credit, not a single turkey has gotten into the house during her tenure, although keeping the doors shut probably has more to do with it than she does, and she certainly hasn’t been much good at stopping them from pooping on the patio. Somebody found her on the road with a broken hip after being run over and took her to our vet, who patched her up and put her in a cage in his office waiting room hoping somebody would adopt her. Turned out she was also pregnant at the time. Mrs. whined about her for six months and after the kittens got adopted out, I finally got tired of hearing about it and told her to just go get the damn thing. Fifteen years later, she’s slowed down considerably and no longer bouncing off the walls like when she first got us, which explains how she got named Psycho Cat, but we’ve been her servants ever since.

I see lawns torn to shreds, turkey crap all over, and feathers flying. In a town in NE Nebraska turkeys are a curse tearing up lawns and roosting on roofs leaving trails of poop on roofs. People there beg for someone to hunt and kill as many as possible but Game & Parks prevents it just like they do with wolves and mountain lions.
my buddy John went turkey hunting last year. 3 days of nothing. he stopped by on his way home and was pissed to see a mess on them in my backyard.
weird part is there are state game lands all around us here. and like clockwork
come hunting season, they all come to hide out around the houses here.
it no big thing to see a 8 point or better bucks walking across the road
and the damn does. you lucky as hell if you DO NOT HIT ONE.
then too, the fools around here started feeding them. bread, corn, whatever.
little to people realize that in summer time, they are walking flea farms and loaded with ticks. just the things you would want in your front yard !
I just wish they would stop feeding the damn things and get them out of the roads and yards.
and Lisa got a cat on his last legs or so we where told. well, after a month of wet fancy food, the bastard is doing the zoomies around the house between 11pm and 4 am. why? I have no idea but he does drive the dogs nuts when he does and they start barking at him. yeah, it wakes us up every time he does it.
fun are they?
