  1. No no, mine freunde – Molybdenum disulfide is your friend – I use a product called Dri-Slide, it came out during the Vietnam Conflict and the GIs swore by it – kept the M16s working when no other lubricant would. http://www.drislide.com

WD-40 has acid in it, NOT suitable for precision mechanical movements. And the residue is a bitch. Ask me how I know.

I sent Dri-slide to some buddies in the Army Infantry during Vienam, they couldn’t get enough of it!!

    • WD-40 is for Water Displacement only.
It leaves behind a wax coating to keep the water off.

It is not a lubricant – never intended to be.
The wax coating will trap any grit and ruin your gadget.

      • Came here to say this also. I used to use WD-40 as a lubricant, sprayed it on everything, eventually learned to HATE IT. With a passion. The sticky residue was a bitch to clean off, gummed up everything. I barely touch the stuff now. The best use for it now is an impromptu flame thrower with your bic lighter in order to take out yellow jacket nests.

  2. I never found a use for wd-40. I like the PBblaster for just about everything, though.

  3. I prefer Marvel Mystery Oil, especially if I’m trying to get a sunk engine going & dried out. Buy that stuff in 5gal buckets.
