Martyr:

A martyr is someone who suffers persecution and death for advocating, renouncing, or refusing to renounce or advocate, a religious belief or other cause as demanded by an external party. In colloquial usage, the term can also refer to any person who suffers a significant consequence in protest or support of a cause. In the martyrdom narrative of the remembering community, this refusal to comply with the presented demands results in the punishment or execution of an individual by an oppressor

This coach built 1926 Lincoln dual cowl sport phaeton started life in a Lincoln dealership as a show car in Portland, Oregon. Show cars attracted potential buyers as they would see it in the front windows of the building. When new, it was borrowed by a Mr. Sam Hill for a museum dedication event that took place in Washington state. During the “rental”, this car was rumored to have chauffeured Queen Marie of Rumania through a parade and to the dedication of the museum. History of when it was bought from the dealership is not known. My grandfather first saw the car in 1960 at the Grand Classic car show in Southern California and kept track of it for 12 years. He bought it in 1972 and kept it in his collection until his passing in 2015. I inherited the car in late 2015 and have been working on making it run and drive again. Albeit this cars history has some holes, I’m happy to say that I’ll keep it around and keep it as unrestored as possible for as long as time allows! #antique #antiquecars #lincoln #ford #flathead #flatheadv8 #oldcarsoftiktok
