I’m very hard of hearing and hearing aids are like having a different band playing loudly in each ear with very discordant music. My wife always thought I was willfully ignoring her until she insisted that I go for hearing test and new hearing aids. She was there when the test showed that I hear nothing under 24 Db and nothing over 80 Db. When I took my preinduction physical the tester told me I had a severe hearing loss and that was 56 years ago. The only upside to the bad hearing is that some of the things I think I hear are no where near what was said and at times it’s very entertaining to me. Oh, and my wife is much more patient with me now.
My grandfather said that by the grace of God and the wonders of medical science providing him with a hearing aid, he could switch my grandmother off …
