  1. Alls well until mom comes out and grabs them both by an earlobe. Their feet will not even hit the ground.

    • Yup, either parent in our case.  You didn’t want Dad to get past “That’s enough.” If Mom waded in, she had a switch, plus we had to sit on a chair holding hands until we kissed and made up. Boy, could we sit there a long time!

  2. Mom was quite skilled with a wooden spoon, spatula, hairbrush, and shoe. Dad used the 1-3/4″ leather belt. Dad was predictable in that you got a sideways look, (strike 1), “knock that shit off”(strike 2), and either “go get my belt, or if he was wearing it, it came out of the loops. (Strike 3 your out) Mom wasn’t always as predictable, but itwas usually clear that you were over the line. No such thing as “wait till your father gets home”, business had already been taken care of.
