This is basic logic. One button guarantees your survival no matter what anyone else does, the other requires at least 51% of everyone else to do what you want them to do, which is a terrible plan. The simple answer is everyone that wants to keep living just push the red button, everyone else press the blue.
Doesn’t matter what button, even though logic says press the red one to guarantee survival. I know the game is rigged, but Jesus is in control. Whoever made up the game can go fly. I’m not playing anymore.
There is one aspect to this scenario not given: the need to repeat the process every 5-10 years to slough off the “blues” again, as many ostensible “reds” are only very tenuously so, and will drift “blueward” over time for various and sundry self serving reasons. So, it isn’t a one and done proposition. But that it would be so simple.
Also, the blues will press the blue button thinking they are assuring their survival, but that only comes to fruition with the implicit assumption that they get to continue expropriating (read: stealing) the productivity of the naturally red contingent of society. So, we should fully encourage them press the blue, with the foreknowledge that everytime they exceed 51%, we get an automatic housecleaning of the parasites. As slow a they are to learn, we could probably get an annual jubilee for at least a decade. And I could live with that. The best part is that they will have brought about their own removal, and thus I can’t be held in any way responsible for their destruction (like a certain group has done by playing the victim card for the last 80 some odd years).
As with most matters of debate these days, my feelings can be summed up quite succinctly as “fuck ’em”.
