I still want to buy one of the old style percolater coffee makers instead of our drip style. I’ve read coffee from perc is stronger, more caffeine. Any brand recommendations?
The thing about a percolator is it keeps pumping the hot water up the tube,splashing it into the glass knob in the lid,letting it fall through the basket of beautiful coffee grounds for as long as you want. You can watch it change as it gets stronger, pouring off some for your immediate needs as it gets stronger. I have a Corningware percolator. I like it a lot. It’s used when power is out. A gas stove is really good then,,
With gas,the pot can be set aside from the burner and kept warm.
A heavy walled unit would, I’d think, stay warm longer than a thin walled one would, and reheating is not a problem, if keeping it warm is a problem.
Dad had an electric percolator. It was pretty quick about delivering a good cup. If you have an All Electric house, you might consider that.
