At least men have more interesting deaths. Most women will die alone in a nursing home. Naturally, I’d prefer to go in my sleep, or just fall over mid sentence from a massive coronary. Barring that easy out, I’d rather get blown up or something equally spectacular and quick, than waste away for years in an expensive shithole with a staff that will abuse me.

Someone to brace the ladder, and a safety spotter. It’s all in how you define things…..
Sometimes if it’s stupid and it works it’s still stupid.
I did something that unapproved once and am still here. Traipsed around a bonnet roof painting dormers one afternoon and they took my 40 footer away to use elsewhere. So they gave me a short ladder straight up on a ladder scaffold and held it while I climbed down.
What could possibly go wrong?
Something stupid like that got my brother killed.
