  1. Yup, it would sell like hot cakes. And all those crew cab, 4 ft bed, high lift, 4WD, leather seats, motherfucking Platinum edition trucks that list for $90,000 would sit on the lot and rust out before selling. That’s why they don’t just make the simple trucks anymore. Cause that simple truck for roughly $30k would ruin the business model of selling over-priced fancy-ass trash.

    • In all fairness they would probably still sell quite a few of the luxury models. I am sure most of the Platinum edition truck owners rarely, if ever, haul anything in the bed of their truck. It is more of a status symbol to the owners.

  2. Remember CAFE standards and regulatory interference are as much to blame as the marketers & hedge funds types for why these trucks don’t exist anymore.

  3. People wonder why Toyota Tacoma trucks are selling so well, this is one of the reasons. Then there’s the durability.

  4. Am looking at a ’95 F-250 now. Thought about the video topic weeks ago and now a present has appeared. Of course my 2020 F-150 just crapped the trans so getting a new one but the 95 has 460, man trans and definitely project truck but not too mechanically knowledgeable but quick to learn. Truck is cheap enough to buy but could run thousands to completely restore, IDK.

    • Take the time to do a frame-off cleaning job. You get to fix all the little things, clean all the rot, layer on the rust inhibitor and upgrade the wiring. It’s a lot of extra work up front but it’s worth it in the long run.

      • appreciate the advice. will definitely consider. If i do it right the first time, i only have to cry once.

  5. I just want to know why they can’t build a small truck anymore. Ford came out with the Ranger and Maverick that are just as big as a 2000s era F150.

  6. Restoring an old truck is so worth it.
I found a 2011 Nissan Xterra ( frontier basis) with 73k miles & no rust.
I’m going through it front to back changing all the fluids, changing crispy crunchy suspension items. New shocks, brakes, tires, etc.
It does have a computer and ABS, but none of the lane watching, crash avoiding, camera crap like post 2014 stuff. best of all NO SCREENS. Those screens are a single point of major failure waiting to pop up. $$$$thousands to fix when they puke IF one is available in the future.
I have buttons and switches for everything.
That F150 in the video is perfect. That era of trucks is rising in value .

  7. Still have an 89 F150 4 speed straight 6. I think the frame and body will fall apart before the motor quits.
