With the price of copper like it is, that’s a fortune.
If they’re all pre-1983 pennies, it is. 1983 on are all zinc, with a very thin copper plating. Fuckers. Ok, put another worthless penny in there for me
yah, i forgot that part. so only 14290 per dollar…
Damn straight – used to be you could drill out a penny and have a decent copper washer for whatever you needed, saved a trip to the hardware store. Now the fucking zinc pennies are too brittle and crack and break under stress. Pennies ain’t worth a fucking penny.
Fuck man, is that all you fucking got ? Shit !
Pocket change adds up. I’ve paid for a couple of vacations to Colorado over the years in just that way.
Good to see you’ve got more cents than I thought. Just sayin
You turn a pun well…
As a single man, I started one of those and had it mostly full. Not just pennies and dimes, I had paper money in their too. Ones, fives, even twenties. My plan was to fill it up then count it out and go buy a new gun. Then I got married. One day I came home and saw the empty water bottle out by the trash. Shit. Go inside, my wife and her sister were sitting there, just as proud as can be. They had spent the day counting out all that change and then took it to the bank. Got rid of that ugly eyesore (her words) and got real money for it. Ok, where’s MY money? I asked. Oh, we went shopping, it was a lot and look at all the clothes and stuff we bought. The real bitch of it was that she expected me to be proud that her and her sister spent all day counting it out, like I should be thankful or something that they spent something like $600 (back in 1990) that I had been saving for years. That’s when I learned that what’s mine is hers and what’s hers is also hers.
I spent hours rolling coins into those paper tubes, only to find that my new bank has a coin sorting device attached to their coin counter.
