You know you are in trouble when ya go into for a digital exam for prostate and when bent over the table you feel two hands on your shoulder…
That test is totally unnecessary anymore.
It is still a valid diagnostic tool, If you are referring to a PSA Test, (Prostate-Specific Antigen) it is not 100% accurate and can give false positive for high levels of PSA in the blood, which may indicate cancer. You may have benign prostatic hyperplasia, a non cancerous enlargement of the prostate. So taken together a PSA and a digital exam gives a clearer picture.
