A corollary to this is the ability to find a tool is inversely proportional to how bad you need it. This is why they’ll be in my way for a week, but when I need it, it’s vanished somehow. Also having more doesn’t fix this. Last you looked you have 4 gotdam 10mm deep sockets. You’ll have none when you need one. Or you’ll find one which you’ll quickly lose.

Every time I am in my garage. Sometimes more than once.
What is worse, is when it still is in your hand and you can’t find it.
All missing tools magically reappear when you buy a new one to replace it.
