Black cherry extract pills made gout disappear. I have been taking them for 30+ years.
And it’s not fun
Nice CCW shirts.
I stopped drinking coffee 2 yrs ago & haven’t had gout since.
Suffered with horribly painful gout for over ten years. Happened to see an online chat between a Dr. and some folks. I broke into the chat and asked about remedies for my gout. The Dr. suggested I start juicing a lemon and adding the juice to 8 oz of spring water every day. I asked “How is adding citric acid to uric acid gonna help ?” He told me that the citric acid in the lemon juice is metabolized by the body as an alkaline. Then when the body dumps the uric acid around your joints, it dumps it into an alkaline environment and the uric acid is neutralized. That was in 2014. Have not had gout since.
I get a flare up anywhere from six months apart to several years, usually the left big toe but sometimes the right. Doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to which side or how far apart. Doc gave me a prescription for 0.6 mg Colchicine tablets. Two at onset and two more in four hours then once daily. If I’m on it right when it first gets noticed, the pain doesn’t get very bad and will be gone before it’s time for the second two pills. Then I’ll take one a day for three or four days. All that as prescribed. Miracle drug as far as I’m concerned, and not very expensive, either. A prescrip for 30 tablets runs less than $20 and will last for three or four events.
That said, I’ve been eating the black cherry extract capsules as recommended by T-squared for about six months now without any relapses so I’m cautiously optimistic those are gonna do the trick. Not tossing out the Colchicine tablets quite yet though. If the black cherry extract fails me, I’ll give Bluesman’s lemon juice trick a shot (and thank you Sir for mentioning it).
Pretty sure it’s not gout CederQ. But glad you are out, recovering, and posting again. May you be back on your foot again soon. In the meantime, check out Limb Loss Boss on the socials if you have not already. Cheers! Brewer96
An alternative to pills is black cherry juice. When you get an attack, mix it half and half with water and drink as much as you can in one sitting, then finish the quart off the rest of the day. That does it for me when I dont have the pills.
