I can’t blame my parents. Looking back at the things i did, the ass woopings were well deserved.
I ended up with manners and a great respect for a good sense of right and wrong and a longing for my childhood, knowing i will never have that much fun again
The way my mother raised my brother and I probably would have gotten her arrested by todays standards…BUT, I learned respect for my elders, I learned manners, and I learned that my actions have consequences. Three simple things that are lacking in society today.
I stole one thing, a toy car, one time. My parents caught me playing with it an hour later. Dad turned the car around and drove an hour back to where we had stopped and returned it, then blistered my ass, and I never did that again, ever.
The kids are all right. Whatever problems this generation has they are smoking less, drinking less, and getting knocked up less.
Maybe they are too boring.
