I have some decades old Duff-Norton railroad jacks I used to lift my house. The good thing about a screw jack is it can’t bleed down like a hydraulic jack could and it will work in any position.
hey, I got 2 old house jacks in my shed. now the “bell” or base is much bigger than
the one above. but for some jobs, there is not a safer jack.
I have in the past lent them out to “friends” and made damn sure I got them back !

I have a 40 and 30 ton house jack, but no screw jacks. The one pictured is a bit dangerous, the footprint is waaaay too small for me.
Nevertheless it must do a darned good job.
A dildo for democrats?
