Even a bad decision is better than no decision. When you find out it was bad, you can usually correct it. Even if you can’t find a way to correct it, you file it away in your memory and don’t make that move the next time. We usually learn more from our fuck ups than we learn from accidentally getting it right. Do nothing – learn nothing – accomplish nothing – worth nothing. Sounds a bit like the career of FJB.
…but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines…. on my gmail.
I know…
I’ve been on local boards and most of the members are afraid to make a decision for fear of having to own it. I made decisions and made people mad because I made decisions and pushed for the rest of the boards to make a decision and still they waver for fear of doing something, anything. Drove me nuts and I finally resigned from both.
While I was County Engineer in Ohio I was driving home in a line of three cars and a squirrel was sitting on the side of the road wanting to cross. he started to run just before the first car, but stopped himself. Then he started to run in front of me, but stopped himself. The he seemed to shout NOW! and ran under the front wheel of the third car. It was like he was steeling himself for suicide and just took the third try to make up his mind.
Then you get the ones that run to the middle of the road as a car is coming then the head and tail seem to have an argument about which way to go. The argument usually doesn’t end well.
I just ignore the dumbass squirrel. Survival of the smartest.
