  1. Yeah, what evah. Heh, even as a kid oh those many years ago; I realized that the TV version of this holiday was a farce.
Now, now just let me be the curmudgeon that I am. I can offer my sincere wish for your happiness this day. I really do. I grew up with parents that were depression/WW2 folks. I grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm and I do know the value of hard work and what you can receive from that. And I pray that y’all can catch a glimpse of that satisfaction today.
What I can’t stand is “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” schtuff and the “forced” pinched look on the talking heads that moderate that event.
I guess as I age (my wife says moldering) I realize the nudging/manipulation that society slathers on citizens. This past election cycle has soured me thoroughly, on the american dream. Oh, not the dream that I was promised. But, the dream that the elites are allowing me to have.
There I said it. Into the blogosphere ether.
Have a great day with whatever events you observe.

  2. Thank you Phil and Cederq for one of my favorite daily visits. I hope you have as quiet and peaceful a holiday as we will. We have a dinner invite with my wife’s sister and husband, just the four of us, and we get along quite well. I’ve been to a lot of grand hoo-ha turkey days, and now I treasure that old saying, that “one of the pleasures of age, unknown to youth, is the pleasure of NOT going.”

  3. A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, along with the rest of the reprobates that visit here also!

  4. Happy Turkey to all! Let’s not forget the backstory, which is that the Pilgrims finally figured out that socialism truly sucked.

  5. Thanks Phil and Cederq. Been enjoying this blog daily for quite a long time. Never commented. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the blog.

  6. Popped out of my tryptophan coma long enough to wish EVERYBODY that visits this blog – and the two reprobates that run it – a Happy Thanksgiving. May Life smile upon y’all!
    Oh, and FJB.
