  1. After reading the other comments, my thought of that air chuck is missing its guts and will leak like a bastard are a little off the mark. Though my first thought was, “that is an Industrial fitting and isn’t compatible with my ARO style”.
I was ALWAYS a mechanic. Never a doper.

    • I went through a couple years ago and calculated how many fittings I needed and ran dow to Harbor Freight and bought enough to change all my air tools over to the Industrial type.
It cost a hell of a lot more than I thought it was goinf to…

  2. Have 2 or 3 of em in my tool box The 6 ft tall compressor in my shop has not been used in about 15 years seeing as all my tools are now battery powered and actually produce better torque/twist/air than anything running off 140 PSI though I did need a big honker 1/2 inch Ingersoll air torque wrench for one particular bolt on a frigging VW about 10 years ago. The air tools sole grace is that you can run them until the cows come home, the electrics overheat or degrade when used that way. Have seriously thought about putting all the air tools up on Craigslist, there are still some places that use them but they are vanishing pretty fast. The only thing you really need air for nowadays is sandblasting or spray paint and the latter is fast also going electric HVLP without large air supply.

  3. That valve is for seating a tire on the rim.
You remove the guts from the tire valve also.
Remember that 4 way tool, it has a point to do just that.
It has no “guts” cause it is supposed to pass air at a high flow rate.

Post a pic of a 4-way tool also.

    • God, I remember doing that. Working at a service station back when they all sold gas and repaired cars. Before gas got to $1.00. Guess I’m officially old.

  4. Damn that’s fancy. We had to use an old toilet paper tube, a small patch of tin foil, and some duct tape. When you gotta make do, you make do.
