If you grew up in the 60’s and 70’s like I did, watching Saturday Morning Cartoons was a ritual.
My all time favorite by a wide margin was The Roadrunner.
The crazy antics of Wyle E. Coyite trying to catch the clever and endlessy lucky Roadrunner to have for dinner are legendary.
Well apparently Warner Brothers went through all the time and expense to make a half animated movie about the Coyote suing the manufacturer of all the insane gizmos he used that somehow either malfuntion or work perfectly at the wrong time, ACME and then canned it.
Whoever the genius behind that decision was obviously listens to Jim Cramer for financial advice.
That was in 2023.
According to the trailer that just came out, some outfit called Ketchup Entertainment bought the rights to the film and have announced it’s debut on August 28th.
According to the stats I just looked up, Gen X, the people who grew up during the years The Roadrunner was originally broadcasted through,1966-1973, number about 65 million.
Technically, being born in 1960 myself, I am a Boomer but I was 100% raised like the Gen X’rs. and have everything thing in common with them.
So someone decided that a movie specifically made for a target audience with 65 million potential customers wasn’t a good idea.
The people at Ketchup Entertainment are about to show them just how wrong they were.
Let us know how you dis/like it. I probably won’t go see it because the last movie the girlfriend and I went to see (in 2018) was followed by the comment “Don’t ever invite me to see another movie with you.”
In spite of this featuring John Cena, I might have to see this movie. Thanks for posting this.
Is this for real?!
No, it’s animation…
I was born in 1960 too . . my brother in 1963, and we were never considered boomers until recently. Maybe something happened at CERN.
I considered us a lost generation.
I haven’t been to the movies since I don’t know when because of all the woke boolchit they try to cram down our throats. The good news is I’m not alone and Hollywood’s pocket book is taking it in the shorts.
That said I’m going to make an exception for this. I’ll go during the second week after release when I can get matinee pricing and Senior discount.
Thanks for the notification.
Let me guess, Disney got involved and Wile E. goes Brokeback Mountain on a goat.
Might have to go see these. Went to seen Hail Mary and that was much better that expected. We have a place called Brew Flix which is a beer hall and a movie theater fusion. Not a bad night out.
Also saw “Project Hail Mary”. Excellent movie and story!
No preaching.
No WOKE.
No talking “down” to the viewer.
Finished the movie with smile on my face, wanting more, and yet, very happy with what I got!
Highly recommend!
Oh, and I was hatched in 1955. Never figured out how I was a boomer. But whatever.
As I am a ’53 Boomer, I hereby anoint you as a Fellow Boomer.
Pay the man when you leave, please.
“a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acme Corporation” hahahahahahaha!
Please God, don’t let this suck and let the Hound whup Foghorn Leghorn’s ass!
Trailer looks good, hope that is not the best of the movie.
I will also wait for the seniors discount
Unpreachy cartoons with actually funny shit?
Even if it is summer and the movie theaters here get all touristed up, I may go midweek and have a couple of beers.
Cena another hollywierd pinko commie, can’t ever get that minute five back.
