Although he was most famous for that early role, he was in scads of movies and shows, including Home Alone as the pretentious Concierge at the hotel Macaulay Culkin terorrized.

The Rocky Picture Horror Show was a cult film that went well past anyone’s original expectations and is still popular to this day.

I can remember going to the Bagdad Theater in Portland way back in the day with my brothers and cousin’s to watch it and was surprised to see the people in the front row jumping up in costume and mimicking the lines even then.
He made it 80 years of age just like Dolly Parton so they both had good runs.
It’s worth noticing their passing.
Well, counting celebrity deaths from last week (starting with Hayden Panettiere) and ending with Dolly Parton, he would be number 5. So we’re due one more. While I have no use for most celebrities, I’d much rather see politicians dying off at an accelerated rate. The grim reaper has been sitting on a huge backlog of those fuckers.
I think one already did, but they won’t release the details. Those Kentuckians can be closed lipped when they need to be.
Ha! Yeah. 5 dead celebrities in a week, and we still can’t get proof Mitch the bitch is alive and kicking. Kind of drives home my point.
Amen BRD
He was excellent in ‘The hunt for Red October’.
Never realized that was him. Wow gonna have to watch it again
Yeah, probably been 20+ years since I last saw it.
I never got around to seeing it, to this day!
It could be a genetic fault in my genome, I dunno. I’m 1st gen Gen X to boot!
Saw it a few times at midnight on Saturdays at a local old movie theater with many carrying squirt gun and other props for the various scenes in the movie.
wondering if we won’t see more due to the vaxx
He had a huge range of acting. I always pulled for his “Darkness” character in Legend… wanted to see those 2 unicorns AND Tom Cruise bite the big one.
Definitely one of a kind.
He’ll be missed.
Remember Shelley Fabares? She died on august 22, 2026, at 82.
I “knew” (worked for a week with, so I didn’t really know him) one of Tim Curry’s specialist doctors. Curry had a bunch of medical issues and wanted to be sure he could personally get along with this vital specialist. So Curry offered to fly him out to Manhattan, and they’d have dinner to see if they could work together. (Curry was in NYC doing the musical Spamalot at the time.) So doc agrees, and flew to Manhattan. Shows up at the restaurant and Curry is there, saying “I hope you don’t mind that I brought a friend.”
The friend turned out to be Billy Crystal. So doc had a great dinner with Curry and Crystal. Said they were both genuinely funny (not just good scripts) and extremely smart. They also turned out to be Nice People. Basically good humans. Which was kind of a nice thing to know about Dr Frank N Furter (and all the other cool roles he played).
The first time I saw Rocky Horror was in the Tinker Street cinema iin Woodstock, MY n 79 or so, it was a cloud of smoke and I think I was only one smoking cigs. Still the funnest time I saw it.
I liked him in Legend, he had great range
He was fantastic in Clue too. I like that dumb ass movie, it cracks me up.
Too bad. He seemed like a good guy.
