  1. always trust the dog. if he/she doesn’t like someone, there is a damn good reason why. and now on the downhill side of life, I remember all the dogs I have been blessed to be with better than most of the “friends” I have known over the years.
never had a dog turn on me, but a few of the people who said they where my friends sure did. and yes. I do have a couple of really good friends left.
but they getting long in the tooth as I am. what ones I have left that is.
used to live next door to a k9 cop. he hated when I used to play with his working dog. that rottie used to wet herself when I was playing with her. Sona was a damn good dog. funny, you remember the dog name, but not the owner

    • What a load of garbage.

I encounter threatening dogs all the time, in what would have otherwise been an enjoyable walk on a trail. Dogs pick up on the owner’s fear, a pheromone, and just like humans with their mass hysteria, it sets the dog off.

What are the humans afraid of? Who knows, and who gives a care, but the garbage that “a dog knows” is a lame excuse for owner’s not to controlling their animals. It’s that simple.

  2. I glance up at the bookshelf over my desk, and in the middle shelf I count seven books by Konrad Lorenz, including one titled simply Man Meets Dog. He’s fun to read, with an old school, very dry, sardonic wit.

  3. Everyone gets the dog test. It works.
If my dog doesn’t like you, it’s because they can sense you’re dishonest and not to be trusted.
