Well, that’s my first dose of stupid for the day.
Likewise.
I’ll be back later for more. We all will.
That mic looks like a foreign made PoS and all it is good for is a hammer and needs to be sent for re-cycling into a horseshoe.
I was given an “Aerospace” one, it looks like Fowler with a different nameplate, definitely chineseum.
It’s good to tenths. I used to check it against Deltronic gauge* pins or some gauge blocks and it was always spot on.
I just treated it very carefully.
*I refuse to spell it ‘gage”, my little rage against the machine.
Although some people misspell gauge as gage, the word gage has a completely different meaning.
It means throwing down to challenge someone to a duel, as in the phrase “throw down the gauntlet”.
Looks like a new calibration method to me.
I have a hammer for the idiot. And the idiot won’t like it.
Geez, you’re supposed to use crescent wrenches for hammering, mikes are for C-clamps.
Everybody knows that.
Remember this when they tell you that you need an expensive repair because your ____ is out of spec
I’m a calibration tech. From the things I’ve got handed to me, I think that happens a lot more than anybody knows. Calipers, too. I’ve had some come in where you could use the inside-measurement jaws to catch fish.
Save those for me Budd, I like to fish.
Everything is hammer! Everything!!
Measure with a micrometer
Mark it with chalk
Cut it with a chainsaw

Well, that is a precision device.
Or was.
Yup, now, it’s just a hammer.
Good to +/- 1″.
