Yep learned that the hard way as well
…that also goes for Dads. Mine at least, although I was never much of a talker and even less so these days. Typing? Well that’s another matter altogether.
Yeah, the older I get the less I enjoy endless jabbering. I can describe my workday in 1 or 2 words. My wife likes to recount every activity and replay every conversation. I love my wife. I do wish she’d find a hobby.
Mine can talk non stop for hours. I don’t know how she does it, and all I can do is marvel at the skill.

Kids are full of vinegar and spit, can’t hold still, can’t contemplate their navel. If they were quiet, not knocking around and creating vibrations, they’d be excellent fishing buddies! Some kids get it, most don’t. I didn’t learn until I was about 12…
Unless you’re a professional fisherman, fishing is for sitting back, becoming one with Nature, holding your peace, and just r-e-l-a-x-i-n-g and “turning down the noise in your mind”. A good Fishing Buddy makes it much more enjoyable.
“Go away, kid, ya bother me!” – somebody named W.C. Fields
