I ‘rescued’ a 115 pound Bernise Mountain / Border Collie cross (???).
When sitting on a short stool starting a fire in the wood stove he’d come up behind me, rest his chin on my knee and give me a look like that. His name was Buddy.
Our across the fence neighbors went overseas for 3 weeks

Leaving their dog with a doggie door into the garage, an automatic water and feeder setup
And his brother who has a more than full time job, a working wife and a very busy child to check on her when he can
I’ll probably be moving her into our place for a while. Been going over to be with her but an hour or so per day isn’t really enough. Especially the nights
