  1. Had an 84 SS lot of fun but the door glass pulled away from the weatherstripping over 90. Rust mites killed it

  2. It was a reasonable idea, but seems to have gotten the reputation as a joke in the last 15-20 years. I don’t know why it would be viewed differently than a light duty pickup like a Ranger or S-10. Yes it’s a compromise, but if it fits a purpose, what’s the issue? Is it the styling that people take issue with? Or the fact it isn’t a “real” or “serious” truck?

I probably wouldn’t want one myself as I prefer a full size pickup, but what has turned it into such an object of derision? I have to figure it’s down to the type of driver often associated with owning one. Stereotypes for the win, eh?

  3. I had a friend that had two of them. One was a 70ish big block and the other was a 80’s that came with a 4.9L ?? that he dropped a LS1 into and is currently driving.

  4. It’s still more useful than any of today’s pick-ups….and you can fix shit on it when it went bad.
Oh yea, I’m only an asshole when I’m drunk, unlike the stone cold sober asshole….
At least I have to put some effort into it….

  5. had some of those. rangers and S10’s. They are all better than a lincoln or caddy to carry 400# of feed back to the ranch.
