  1. The first is A4 Pacific “Sir Nigel Gresley” of the London and North Eastern Railway – which became part of British Railways in 1948. It’s now one of the national collection at York.

    • Jannie, I include a lot of British Iron as they are great looking and unique! If you have pictures of Brit engines and railway stock and of depots and repair equipment I would be happy to post them!

      • Is that a poke at me to get my British Railways book scanned and sent in? (Copyright 1954)
Most of them are B&W (naturally!) but some of the colour ones are pretty good…
Yes, I spelled that correctly. John-O should feel right at home!

  2. Thanks HH, ole 40 is a beautiful piece of machinery.

Some real beauties and a little eclectic Cederq, good set.

    • That giant lantern headlight is almost as tall as the smokestack. Wonder what the candlepower rating is and how far ahead the beam would actually illuminate the rails.

  3. Trans-Australia Railway would be defined and interpreted differently in these current times.

    • Mebbe so, but I’d LOVE to ride it end-to-end and back! Along with the Trans Canada.

      Can’t afford either one, unfortunately…

  4. That pic with the North Bound Orders,
I’m more interested in the cast iron hanging behind it. The wife would kill me but you really can’t have enough cast iron.

    • Yup!
If”n ya want to see girls, go to Feral Irishman or Wired right.
If’n ya wanna get technical, go see Silicon Greybeard.
If you are a hopeless nerd and want to see Rocket Science down ‘n dirty as it happens, check out Lab Padre’s cameras at Starbase in Boca Chica!

Lots more sites out there for just about anything. Just ask CederQ.
