Oh to have been a kid and ride that mono rail in the Chicago Sears and Roebuck store really cool.
6th from the bottom looks like a Fredrick Remington one of my two favorite artists. Dad said Remington painted the horses as they were under nourished while Charlie Russell always painted them looking healthy. I have a replica of the “Coming Through Rye” sculpture.
Mom worked as a docent at the Cowboy Hall of Fame so that was my daycare those old women kept an eye on me but yes I behaved.
First thing was always go to that sculpture and dream of being one of those horseback riding into town shooting my pistol off.
Great set Cederq.
I always look at the Remington horse renditions as showing off the musculature of the animal rather than it being undernourished. Noble beasts indeed. Mai a few visits to the “Hall” when I lived in Yukon back in the 80’s.
I may have got the artists backwards. Did not check.
The bridge leading into the tunnel is very similar to the one in Von Ryan’s Express.
Yup. And I’m pretty sure the view of the bridge from inside the tunnel are two shots of the same features.
The Sear Roebuck image.
Damn, that’s so unsafe I FUGGING LOVE IT !!!!! The people in the tram and the people in the store – oh BOY, What could go wrong? I wanna go back to those times.
Could not be done today.
