When we were kids playing on the tracks, trains still had cabooses. Even freight trains.
Feeling very nostalgic today. I’ve ridden a few trains in my youth; Wondering if we are better off with our automobiles. Or if society was better back then; when you had to have patience and wait for your transportation.
I do enjoy looking up the locations and history of the train stations with names. Here is this week’s.
Never saw a shay or a climax with an angled boiler. More likely a loco used on a cog railway.
Hank, wasn’t quite sure and couldn’t find any pics of angled boiler, I was going by the running gear.
I do not believe that is a shay, the cranks on a shay are not enclosed . These are. I have never seen a shay with a canted boiler ever, such as on a rack railway. Nor have i seen a 4 wheel shay.
