Kathleen Kennedy effectively killed the franchise, and I believe that was her intent. She also did the same to Indiana Jones. She has since stepped down from her leadership role at Lucasfilm, but I still believe that the gash that she possesses whould be used as a starting point to rip that evil, vindictive cunt in half. Indiana Jones needs to be written again, explaining how the whole “crystal skulls” thing was an imagined reality caused by an experimental truth drug. He had been captured by Russians, who administered the drug. That explains the whole transition from Nazis to commies.
He was rescued, and narrated the events of that movie before losing his sanity, and being disappeared.
This narrative is relayed to his follow on character, as a briefing. The belief is that the adled ramblings hold facts and clues to the mystery the Russians were actually wanting. (Similar to how Dan Brown does in his works ).
