Max q.. that’s what they call him on SpaceX…headroom, and I’m from the 60’s teenager years…
Or you were a parent of a teenager in those days.
Or extra points if you knew this was actually Matt Frewer, not CGI.
Additional extra points if you remember the wackjob in Chicagoland who did it to a pair of broadcast tv stations.
Max Headroom. MTV I heard shut down recently. No big loss, it had gone to shit programming.
Senior year spring of highschool I was out of class at 11:30 but had to go back for baseball practice. It was 1981, MTV and ESPN started broadcasting. I went home for lunch and watched either some badass europeon music videos because the Americans had not made many yet, or some badass Florida college baseball.
ps Somewhere on the innerwebz is a vhs video of the television of day 1 of MTV. That chick was hot back then.
ZZ Top videos were the best!
Loved him, always tried to watch it – no VCRs back then, missed a few episodes.
Max could not be avoided if you watched TV in the 80s.
I was a teenager in the 70’s.
I even remember the crash that gave Max Headroom his name.
Did anyone see the porn spoof Maxine Bedroom, other than me?
To me, the ironic part of this show is that it was meant to be prescient: “Max Headroom: 20 minutes into the future”, yet it sort of is. The premise was that the networks would take over the government in shaping opinion and law. Sound familiar? I think even FJB was sort of glitchy, too.
