I would imagine that many of you are the same way.

Truth!
Aye
That’s me when I was younger. Even when I had my own business….I had to do my own work ’cause if I hadda call a professional then I didn’t get paid that week (or month)…..and I liked things like regular meals and having the power stay on and having heat and such.

I’m not seeing a way to whitelist Proton anywhere.
No way to whitelist anything actually. I looked in the WordPress comment configuration and the Akisma Anti Spam folders.
I can Blacklist things but not Whitelist.

Eh,I just like doing stuff like repairs/rebuilds.
My language at times during repairs would have one(reasonable)question me actually liking doing said projects!
Priceless! Hats off to hardworking men. Father was like that. Husband is like that and he has taught our son well. Jack of all trades. I’m a lucky girl.
I knew when I was young I was never going to have the money to pay other people to solve my problems. Thankfully I was very curious about How Stuff Works and learning how to do things that often require a Perfeshunnal,, and if you want something painted and you need it to be something nobody would ever steal,I’m your guy. Curiosity and desire do not create ability.
All of the above comments pretty much sum up The School of Hard Knocks and Necessity. Of which we all graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Most of us on this blog DIDN’T have a silver spoon up our ass, and if we wanted something we worked for it – you couldn’t wheedle something out of your parent(s) if they were busy treading water and had NO resources for anything even *faintly* resembling somethng non-necessary (y’know – food, clothing, shelter)!
And so, WE will be the survivors When Things Go To Hell In A Handbasket, because we literally had to climb out of said basket on our own.

(Well, okay, I’m Professor-level on some things… aren’t we all??)
Yep. I feel a lot for that guy. Used to get the list of tasks in the am for the fleet, if 8 vehicles could be a fleet when I lived at home. I can still do for myself although I have more resources and sometimes pay for help.
The guy actually makes a major point that people don’t like to hear. The commies are always talking about “equity” but in my experience inequity and the real experience of poverty is the driver of self improvement and innovation. The fact that there are various strata of society is the very engine that drives us upward in capability and knowledge.
Fuck them and fuck their equity. Where is the equity in the guy under the hood being forced at government gunpoint to pay taxes – and pay them on time, mind you – so that Xiden can “forgive” overdue stoo-dent loan debts of idiots like the “guy” who owns that car. An assumption on my part, but what do you want to bet I’m wrong?
Sorry for the ill-tempered remarks this morning, but I just wrote a humongous check to the federales to pay my taxes – and pay them on time, mind you – and I’ve had about all the equity I can stand at the moment.
Ahh… Taken to the cleaners day!
I just wrote a huge check my self as my punishment for success. Making money ain’t legal in this country.
