My God, yes. This obnoxious audible meme of the asshole laughing so annoyingly, overdubbed with a clip from “billy jean” that has become the go-to of so many shorts should be grounds for summary execution. It’s not cute, it’s not funny, it just sucks.
One has to wonder the mental state of people that make vids and include their shitty music choices. It also reflects poorly on people who follow them on a regular basis.
I don’t know why anyone would choose this “backing track” except that it’s become a sort of self perpetuating meme in it’s own right. I do know it’s one if the most irritating damned things I’ve ever heard, and almost entirely because of the fake laugh. The music isn’t even an issue.
It’s been around a while, too. I first ran across it maybe a year and a half ago. This is one trend that I really wish would burn out.
Of course, now that I’ve thoroughly slagged it, it’s popularity will probably spike by another 20%.
