Lubbock Texas is a conglomeration. Seems on the north side of the Yellow House Canyon, there was a town called Monterey. They moved all that over to the south side of the canyon to make Lubbock. Did it with horses as I remember. I guess they didn’t have any cameras to record it. 1891 was the year IIRC.
Pretty amazing what they could do with the equipment they had at the time.
would love to know the full story of the two on the high scaffold being pushed by a steamboat !
This one was going around among some friends in the last week.
A Bell System building moved in Indianapolis in 1929. While people were working in the building. And nobody said they felt it moving.
