I won’t try to convince you of anything, but I will point out that it was almost a mortal lock guarantee that McCarthy would be speaker just based on the rules. All the opposition could do was delay it, and in delaying it, they got him to agree to a bunch of good stuff.
Can you trust him to do them? You can’t trust anyone in DC. I don’t have exceptions for Trump or anyone in politics. In my 45 years of working for a living a conclusion reached early on was the one who wanted to be the boss was the last one you wanted to work for. The more they wanted it, the less anyone wanted to work them. The one you wanted to work for was the very good co-worker who said, “it sucks but I’ll do it for a while to help out, since nobody else will.”
All of those clowns are in DC because they desperately want to be there.

Well, you just called one of the possible scenarios. An “unexpected and tragic event” that takes out Biden and Harris at the same time.
The eulogies would be absolutely breathtaking in their praise of the departed – and the need for supporting the “unity candidates” selected to replace them “in these troubled times”. Perhaps Gavin Newsom is on the replacement team. Perhaps McCarthy is the designated caretaker of the Presidency until then.
I expect that possibility has been discussed in serious and considerable detail by the oligarchy that actually runs the current administration.
No, I doubt they will go through with that particular plan. There are too many practical difficulties.
They would need to have a plausible setup to blame it all on Donald Trump and his supporters. I believe that would be too difficult to arrange and sell. So, they will bumble along until they run out of time and Biden goes down with another stroke or aneurism. “Unexpectedly”, as they say.
They will have to get rid of Kamal Harris in some other fashion afterwards. I do not know how they will do that. It will be a surprise party for everybody.

After all the crap we have observed and been subject to these last 7 years (or since 1963), it should be pretty clear to all that any politician or company founder/management that attend the WEF should not be allowed anywhere near positions of power. In fact, any politician that has attended the WEF or other similar conferences, should be primaried or pressured to resign. As to private company CEO’s and the like, any politician that receives funds through any of their shells, NGO’s, PAC’s or non profit “benevolent” organizations should also be primaried or made to resign.
That leaves a very small pool of honest folks in government, but so be it. We can all do with a major reduction in Federal bureaus and the kind that work there.
When Biden was “elected” I thought that he had the life expectancy of a snowflake on a hot shovel and honestly expected him to die in the car coming back from the swearing in ceremony. I’m surprised that he has lasted this long but if he was installed as a glove puppet, he’ll remain POTUS for as long as needed before succumbing to a stroke, heart attack or whatever.
