Since it was originally built in 1964 but has so many different parts from so many different years on it that I couldn’t even tell you how many.
Baiscally the only original parts on that car that I can say for sure is the body tub, the doors and the trunk lid.
I have literally changed every single other part on that car at least once or at least had it off the car and rebuilt it.
I had to go buy a new battery for it but I took it out on the road, with a new registration form AND INSURANCE, for the first time in over a year today.
I went up to the pharmacy and then over to my son’s house a couple miles away and took my Grandson out for a drive and then him.
The first time in 20 years that there has been a passenger in it except for Jesse a week or so ago and we didn’t get out on the road and the first time I have gone more than two miles away in at least two years,
I put over 15 miles on it today easily.
Now I have to get a different front seat for it again This one just ain’t working for me.
I can barely get in and out of it and I am crammed way too far forward. I may just say Fuck It and get a cheap racing seat for it and call it good.

yeah. I loved MGB-GTs, had a few of them over the years. sold the last one about 15 years ago as I could not longer get in or out of it without help.
yeah, my back was that bad. shame really as they where really neat little cars.
one I had stuffed a old 300 CI Olds engine into it and it was a blast to drive.
lost it in the divorce (bitch) she knew I love that car and went out of her way to fuck that up. anyway, last one was a total body resto . engine and drive train was
done, just one floor panel away from getting paint on it. well, other than primer that is. almost 10 years spent on it. but after my back went out, couldn’t do shit
anymore. sold most of my body tools and sand blast cabinet too. bought it will
money made off selling other parts I had got over the years
yeah, found a old MG twin cam engine at a sale once, guy had no idea what it was too. he just wanted it GONE. that alone paid for a lot of tools and parts.

Nice, always good to see a project that languished for so long finally come to fruition. Seats can be a bitch to get right, especially when fitting non-original parts. I’m not yet at the age where impaired mobility makes it tough for me to get in and out of a car, but I have studiously avoided owning vehicles that sit really low to the ground, in anticipation of that eventuality. At one point I really wanted a last generation Fiero. Still kind of do, but have to much invested in specialty tools and spare parts for the stuff I already own, to justify starting an obsession with yer another car line now.

In ’67 or ’68 I had my sister’s up to 104 @ 1AM on Old Cutler Road (winding 2 lane in Miami). Booze will do that… it’s a wonder any of us made it past our 20s.
