You still have to fill out a form 4473 with a back ground check. So a suppressor at Costco, probably not.
And that is about the price of a top end can at Palmetto State Armory. They throw in the alternative to have a firearms trust and a finger print kit to make it happen.
they are after all, not that hard to make if you have a lathe and milling machine.
first you have to think about what they do. hold gas and heat. some “cans’ are just that. a big empty can. main problem is baffle strikes. get around that by not having
any baffles ! this works of rifles for the most part. make a tube to go over the barrel. drill a few holes in the barrel midway like. and then seal the ends of the “tube”. that should be made from good steel or something as strong.
cans for handguns take a bit more work, and you need a booster on anything with
a movable barrel. 1911s. most Sigs, Glocks and any like them. any barrel that is fixed, you don’t need a booster on it. say like a PPK or most 22 semi autos
just saying here of course. plenty of intel on the web if you really wanted to know how to.

I remember as a kid griwing up in Northern California, firing off a big bore gun. You’d hear the shot echo through the hillsides. What a great sound.
