Where was someone like her when I worked oil patch?
We had a couple of almost the same young ladies at the front desk of the base I worked out of. Both VERY attractive, and could talk nicely to you and make you cry if you crossed either one. Both too young for me and most of the crew, and if someone showed up with malevolent intent, there were about thirty “protective Dad’s” who were ready to step in should the need arise. And that was if the perp didn’t understand the message.
These ladies had to decipher our handwriting and turn the reports into invoices, so they earned the utmost respect.
yeah. there is something about protecting younger ladies who
sometimes need a “dad” like guy to step in and tell a asshole
what is what. shall we say. worked with a much younger lady who was sharp, smart and way too good looking for her own good. one of the night “guards” made a move on her when they where alone. she told me about it. so. I stopped by and told said asshole to “leave her alone” clam, no yelling or any other bullshit. just leave her alone.
my Mom told me one time I had a “open grave look about me at times” and here I thought I was just a nice guy too.
next day, said asshole “guard” was saying how sorry he was and he will never trouble her again.
the lady was freaking out after that and wanted to know
“what did you say to him?” I told her.
but really it depends on who tells who what and how they do it. clam even voices work so much better than any amount of yelling can ever do.
one thing Mom told me years ago was that everyone had the right to say NO. and to step in if needed to make sure of it.
