  1. I love my SA-35. had 2 hi powers before. one I bought off a buddy in the army for 75 bucks when he needed cash. that one was a FN made one in blue. very nice
    pistol. lost it in my divorce. got a WW2 one in the 1990’s that was nice.
    but the triggers where bad. and the hammer did bite me every now and then.
    either one was s crap shoot with hollow points or cast bullets.
    the SA-35 by Springfield, does both with ease. waited almost 2 years before one show up in my local store. I stopped it to get some more 22lr for the grandson as he comes up in summer and they had a sale on. saw it, asked to check it out and 5 minutes later was doing the paperwork for it. put 3-4 thousand rounds thru it so far and no one problem at all. accurate as hell too. 2-3 inch groups at 25 yards is easy. even on rapid fire. finding a good holster is a bit of a problem though.
    but you can make a 1911 one work if you try hard enough. carry it everyday anymore. bit lighter than a 1911, but not by much. but 15 rounds instead of 8 ?
    yeah. I carry it.

  3. #10. Just to be clear, the cow with a newborn calf is an assault cow. I know guys who had to crawl under their pickup or abandon their side by side to escape an upset cow with a newborn calf and I know guys who have been knocked down and trampled. On the other hand, I know guys who were knocked down and trampled by human females with mental problems.

  6. I also have a SA 35, I love it. When it’s time to decide between 1911 and 35 for the day both keeps popping up in my head.

    I have never seen a saddle ring installed in that location on any Winchester lever gun. A.I. image? Looks to be an 1894 model. Those loose rounds look like 45-70’s.

    Bought my FEG PJK back in the 90’s when I had my FFL. $199.00. Trigger pull much improved by removing the magazine disconnect.

      Rounds maybe a little short for 45-70, maybe 38-55? I’ve shot a few 45-70…

      I’ve got a 1895 CB 26” bbl, and if I had to pick one rifle, I’d stick with it.

      • Do tell. Bought my standard 1895 at a military rod and gun club while stationed in West Germany in 1976. Brought it home and later had a 24-inch octagon barrel installed along with a full length magazine tube.

        In 2003, I was given (most of) a Marlin 336 in 30-30. I sent it off to Marlin and had them refurb it into a CB model in 38-55.

        Still have both.

    • Yes, I think A.I. because of the wrong-sided saddle ring, the odd looking cat-ridges and the belt not having a buckle. Also the rear sight looks abnormally long.

  8. I wore out a Hi-power on +P and +P+ rounds as it died an early death with about 50k rounds through it. I do not shoot +P+ anymore but the Colt GVMT model has no problems with +Ps.
