The Exploited was an early 80’s punk band in the UK, not ‘eavy metal. They sucked the life out of real rock’n’roll. Fuckem.
And I’d sic my dog on the fag first anyway.
If it ain’t Heavy Metal, It ain’t music!
Naw. If it’s Heavy Meal, it’s noise.
Totally agree, except I will add …with screaming.
Heavy metal – noise? Well, that’s what Sammy Hagar sang. It’s your one-way ticket to midnight!
What is “heavy metal” anyway? It’s a more restrictive category than “rock”, which is almost without meaning these days. I wouldn’t call Hagar metal at all, but what do I know? Are head-bangin’ hair bands metal? Like Quiet Riot?
I heard a quote from Lemmy a while back – “There’s two kinds of music. Music I like, and music I don’t.” Was just trying to verify that, and came across a “Top 25” which is pretty damn good, if you ask me.
There’s some really amazing stuff out there in the range of what I’d call “metal”, very interesting musically, almost Baroque in a sense, and other stuff that’s just screaming into the mic with a throbbing background, and I can sure do without that.
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, Ted Nugent, L.A. Guns, Helix, and more are Heavy Metal Music. Country Western and Rap are Noise!
Well I like All Of The Above, but they ain’t heavy Metal Headbanging music.
So there.
Got in a fight with some headbanger years ago when I told him Led Zeppelin was a blues band.
Singer on tube who is billed as heavy metal singer. Wonderful voice that run from high A to bottom F. His name is Dan Vasic from Brazil. Speaks multiple langues. Has quite a following of little old ladies.
I used to hate metal, then I heard Sabaton. They sing mostly about historical wartime events. Try this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPF-6AywCss
Uploaded for the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.
They’ve been accused of glorifying war, but that’s not true. They glorify courage in the face of horrible odds.
There’s also Dianne Van Giersbergen who does Operatic Symphonic Metal. I recommend “A Symphonic Tragedy”.
This is a post I would have selected and posted to make fun at all you heavy metal freaks! I am sorry I hadn’t found it first! C & W music ROCKS!
