It was not about upsetting the Fed, it was about screwing with power and sociopaths money. When they got away with it it emboldened them. All targeted assassinations since have been about money. Just ask Charlie Kirk.

If you have the patience and the stomach for it, the 4-volume biography of LBJ by Robert Caro, hopefully 5 volumes if he lives long enough to finish it, will convince you that no matter how big a bunch a sons-of-a-bitches you think LBJ and that pack of jackals he surrounded himself with were, you seriously underestimated them.
Read most of Caro’s books about LBJ. The man (LBJ) was a jackal. Evil and heinous. He had no soul, from claiming to be a WWII war hero, (in the South Pacific) to the way he destroyed his political opponents, in Texas, to achieveve political power.
Can’t say if he did or had a hand in the “Obvious,” but Jackie Kennedy married one of the most powerful men in the world: Onassis, to protect her and her children.

LBJ’s legacy would be a whole lot better if he had pulled out of Vietnam in the mid 60’s, unconditionally surrendered and gave them $billions, like Trump and Iran.

Executive Order 111110 had to do with silver certificates and the beginning of the end of silver as money or backing money in the US. Nothing nefarious, just the rising price of silver. The effect was to give the Fed marginally more control by consolidating the issuance of paper money at the Fed, Silver certificates were issued by the Treasury.
