Xbox Indian CEO Asha Sharma just announced firing 3,200 Americans.
She filed for 5,000 H-1B visa hires this year.
Asha was appointed CEO of Xbox in February by Indian Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
How is this not a matter of national security? Why are any corporations being permitted any H-1B visa hires?

Weird from my vantage point, as there are no links with which to follow up. Vox, for me, has been no better than a coin flip (50/50) when it comes to observations about things. Sorry, but I just don’t care. Too many “expert or informed opinions” (encompassing more than just Vox) for my taste. I’ll stick to my own counsel, thank you very much. BUT, firing Americans for foreigners in those numbers…..forehead meet .45 slug to the person responsible. Fuck ’em.

Microsoft has long outlived its usefulness. Their corporate leadership sucks, ergo their products suck (the latter having been self evident for quite a long time now). Time to put a bullet in the company, some other outfits need to emerge to take their place, with the competitive zeal neccessary to actually make software that works, and isn’t flaming shit on a stick.
As part of the wind down, lay off all the street shitters clear up to the C class executives. Kick the pajeets out of the country with the implicit understanding that failure to leave promptly and voluntarily means open season will be declared on their asses. Fuck ’em.
Ditto on Microsoft products. I switched to Apple products for personal use. In the 10 years before I retired, I was forced to use MS for compatibility with contractors, vendors, etc. So my machine had Windows 7 on it which in my opinion was the last workable/usable version of their software.
I support 2 things –
1) Ending the H1-B program and shipping all H1-B visa holders out of the country. We have enough unemployed young people today that we don’t need to import foreigners.
2) Nuking the call centers in India that account for 90% of the spam calls and emails that I get daily. I don’t mean a little nuke, either. I’m talking enough nuke power to cause an earthquake. Fuck them.
We need to atone for slavery and historical discrimination by importing 1000’s of racists that live by the caste system to take our jobs.
We so badly need a 2nd civil war, but the frig is full and there’s a big sportsball game coming up. Maybe next week.

Dunn and Bradstreet Software was in the top 5 of software development 35 years ago. The started relying on work study students and replacing workers with H1-B visa workers. It took about 7 or 8 years before the software division was cut up and sold off. D&B is nothing like it used to be.
I thought H1-b visas were to be used ONLY if you couldn’t find workers with that particular skill.
Seems to me “mission creep” is once again rearing its ugly head.
