  1. With my wife it was either “could you…” or “would you…” or “we should…” fill in the blank. The blank being anything from a small shopping list to replacing the roof.
Then there was the ever popular “Uhmm…” usually as I was halfway out the door for work and followed but any number of ridiculous to do items that I should have heard about the evening before and had no time to listen to never mind tackle. So, yeah, I’m there.

  2. Wow, ain’t that the truth! Wonder what page of the “Newly Married ” manual that maneuver is on?

  3. Nothing like taking off your shoes and sitting back to relax to kick the wife’s mind into overdrive on things that need to be done right now.

  4. I retired in 2014 and spent 3 years piddling around the house. The wife retired in 2012 where she took a year off then got a part time job. If she works more than 2 consecutive days she needs a “down” day. I have worked the past 5 years a a school bus driver as a retirement job. I can’t work in communications or anything computer or electronic related as it will void the small retirement I get. The bus driver gig is outside that realm and I make about 1/5 of what I did before I retired. After 5 days of hauling students I want a “down” day but the wife always has agenda planned for me on the weekend.. It came to a head last October where she worked 4 days from Wednesday through Saturday and demanded the down day. The following weekend she had a honey-do list for me on Saturday. I flatly refused and told her that Saturday’s she needed to let me rest as I was exhausted after a week of work. She goes into full retirement in two weeks and I change jobs to something less demanding but making a little better money.

  5. My wife’s routine goes like this, “Will you show me how to use the chainsaw cause I want to trim some branches off a tree in the back yard.” She knows how I am about my tools and there is no way in hell she or anyone else is gonna touch my $400 Stihl chainsaw.

  6. Slowly she has learned I will get to it but not on her schedule. For you youngins out there I was given wise council by my father in law. If you don’t have an agenda she will create one for you so plan ahead.
