  1. Can’t imagine life without a dog in it. Only time I was ever without one was during those 6-month deployments to WestPac or the Med.

Gotta give props to a friend that loves you more than he loves himself. And as somebody said, prob’ly Mark Twain, the average dog is a much nicer person than the average person.

Favor the Australian Shepherd . . . ‘cept for that damned hair. Pick up enuffadat stuff in one day to weave a pair of saddle blankets and a head cover for my putter.

Had the very good instinct back in ’61 to hook up with a woman who likes dogs as much as I do. Trouble is, tho, that she likes kids just as much, and every time I turned around back in the 60s, she was preggo.

We finally figgered out what was causing that shit and went with the tubal ligation after 5.

  2. For my dogs, I’m willing to share the spotlight.
