yeah. same here. dogs are much better than most people I have met over the years. don’t care at all if people like me , but I like it when dogs do.
there nothing better than a strange dog coming over to say “HI” to you.
hell, it how I met most of the people I do know around here.
by their dogs.
I am in the UK all this week for a business meeting. My Frenchie is home staring at the garage door waiting for me and my pitbull/lab mix won’t come out of his cage. They are why I retired, I used to travel 40 weeks a year. This is my last trip. Post retirement consulting is very lucrative but I’d rather be home to play with my besties.
after a lifetime of dealing with assholes/people, you now understand why older folks care more for their pets than they do anyone else.
the best times I had anymore where spent sitting on the front porch steps with my
buddy Slim. he was a big goofy roadie ridgeback of 110 pounds.
great dog. really good with little kids (any kids) not so much with bigger/older ones
great watch dog too, killed more racoons than I can remember. never touch or chased the outside/semi feral cats though. he used to stare at the deer around here. never chased any of them. just watched them. same thing with people he didn’t know. he got “stupid” when it snowed. so much so, my neighbor used to plow up mounds for him to play in. and when he was damn near frozen, I drag his ass inside. he flop in front of the woodstove until he was “good” and then wanted out again (?) . so yeah. I understand why you would rather spend time with your dogs instead of making money. all too well. 14 years was not enough time with Slim. treasure the time with them you have. as you will find out it’s not long enough really.
Yep.
Fortunately, I don’t need a mask. My face says it all.

I told you not to post my picture.
Your secret’s safe, buddy – lots of people running around in goalie masks…
Bullshit, I told him that.
