how long does it take to load one of those ?
I can load a 20 or 30 round magazines rather fast with stripper clips myself.
and I do have a bunch of them.
I like those duramags in stainless steel myself.
always try to grab a couple of them when they go on sale under 12 bucks.
recoil gunworks has the lowest price I have found online most of the time.
ammo is like chips, you never have enough of them.
and it goes a lot faster than you think when you need them.
just wish they start making and selling tracer rounds again in 5.56
in the old days, we loaded the FIRST 3 ROUNDS with tracer and the rest ball.
so, when you saw red, get your ass behind cover and swap out mags.
old 1/503ABN. trick. still, maybe a drum mag or two might be a good thing to have around.
I’d think those would be useful in a static defense situation like an OP or pinch point ambush sites. Otherwise, I’d have to agree that they’re bulky and heavy, especially if you’re of small stature. Course the flaming red barrel from a mag dump might not be too healthy for your rifle and/or position.
As a Kalifornia expat now living in Texas, I heartily second the sentiment. Fuck. Them. That said, I’ll pass on the drum mags. Too heavy, too bulky, and still bulky after it runs dry. As mentioned above, stripper clips. Yes, the same metal clip guides that fit on aluminum mags also work on Pmags.
Phil, soon someone will be doing just that hopefully.
Bought one a few years ago when it looked as though Oregon was going to ban “high capacity” magazines.
It’s not difficult to load.
Might as could be some gifts were sent last week, to both Inslee and Ferguson. Even had a card included:
“In celebration of the United States Supreme Court decision of NYS Rifle & Pistol v. Bruen, please accept this in the spirit intended. From One of many Washington citizens”
