Brothers 5 day stay for broken pelvis last year, total bill – half a million bucks.
Since the the 1950’s the Federal poverty line has been calculated by taking 3 x the food budget for a family of 1,2, 3……8. The reason it hasn’t increased is that many federal benefits are tied to it so making it more accurate would increase the number of people qualifying for various benefit programs.
The lead sentence sets the stage, right or wrong, but they fail to address the problem. It’s not the wages, it’s the insane costs of everything. It would be far easier to reign in wasteful, fraudulent & feel good spending than pushing a living wage bullshit communist propaganda. They’ve (the socialists) created this mess and now they’re pointing at the outcome as another reason to fuck everyone harder. Sick, twisted fucks.
