Old Truck Tuesday

Sam and his daughter Sue delivered the mail to Alleghany in Sierra County for over 50 years, from ’38 to ’94. In the early days Sam would haul gold back to town from the mines. He was never robbed.
This truck belonged to a well respected logger named S.C. ‘Doc’ Linebaugh from White Pines (near Arnold) CA. Doc was the biggest logger in the area at one time. He died in ’74. He was very brand loyal and at one time all his trucks were GMC. This is quite a load for a truck like this.
Here are a couple of neat pictures of KWs you might like that I found while looking for Doc’s GMC. This last picture is very close to the same year model as the ’65 ‘Narrow Nose’ KW that I owned. The four pictures above were sent in by Elmo, thanks for sending them!
