I’m not much excited about summer either. We’ve been very lucky here locally that the temperatures and humidity throughout May so far have been quite reasonable. I’ve actually managed not to turn on my air conditioning yet this month, just using fans as needed. I expect I may finally have to use the AC in the next few days, but generally it’s hot enough to require AC here, often times by the middle to end of April. So, I’ve gotten a “free month” with less power consumption than expected, and I’ll happily take it.
The big issues with summer (besides the typically repressive heat and humidity) are the bugs (which are very bad so far this spring, despite a very harsh winter with an extended hard freeze down into single digit temps) and the emergence or street violence by “the usual suspects”. Already, “teen takeovers” are dominating the news all over the country, and that shit is just getting started.
I also expect something will set off political violence and rioting once again this summer, we seem overdue for more of what was seen in 2020, IMHO. The leftist scum has been relatively quiet of late, after getting all worked up over a couple of dead asshole wankers in Minnedishu earlier in the year. I figure they’re regrouping, and trying to decide what the talking point will be for “justifying” their next round of civil unrest. With the economy at a breaking point due to energy prices (and food prices increases being downstream of that) things are primed to get explosive. Since Trump is no longer focused on domestic problems, I expect him to bungle the response to any such crisis that spins up.
I know it hasn’t started yet, but I’m exactly with you on “can’t wait until summer is over and autumn is here.”
